Dr. Nikhil Sharma​ (DDS) | Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Nikhil (Nik) Sharma graduated from McGill Dentistry, followed by a one-year general practice residency at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. After completing pediatric training there, he pursued a two-year Pediatric Specialty program at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health in Rochester, New York. Upon returning to Montreal, Dr. Nik became the Residency Director for the General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, training new dental graduates in pediatric care. He also practiced in private pediatric clinics, serving the local community.

Now practicing in the Greater Toronto Area, Dr. Nik is a Pediatric Dentist and Clinical Director at Apple Tree Dental for Kids & Sunrise Kids Dental. He leads webinars for oral health professionals and actively uses social media to promote pediatric oral health, educate parents, and support dentists in pediatric care.

Dr. Nashat Cassim (BSc, DDS) | Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Nashat Cassim, known as Dr. Nash, is a certified pediatric dentistry specialist and Fellow of The Royal College of Dentists of Canada. 

He earned his dental degree with honors from the University of Toronto, followed by a one-year residency at The Hospital for Sick Children, focusing on trauma, infections, and acute medical cases. He then completed his pediatric dentistry specialty at U of T.

Dr. Nash is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, teaching dental and pediatric specialty students, and also provides care for patients with disabilities at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. A dedicated educator, he has taught courses locally and abroad, including at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia.

Based in downtown Vancouver, Dr. Edher founded Transcend Specialized Dentistry, a multi‑specialty clinic providing prosthodontics, periodontics, and orthodontics in a collaborative, patient‑centred setting. Patients travel from across Canada and abroad to seek his expertise in complex implant rehabilitation, full‑mouth reconstruction, and aesthetic dentistry.

Dr. Edher is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia, where he teaches both dental students and graduate residents in the Prosthodontics and Periodontics programs. His work has been published in leading journals, including the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and Dentistry Today, and he is an invited speaker at major national and international meetings such as the American College of Prosthodontists Annual Session and the Canadian Academy of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics.

Through the BC Dental Study Club, Dr. Edher’s focus is simple: connect dentists with world‑class instruction and hands‑on training that translate directly to better outcomes for patients and practices.
