The INSTRUCTOR

Dr. Renato Quirino Ramos is a Brazilian dentist specializing in aesthetic dentistry, with a strong academic and clinical background in Operative Dentistry. He holds a specialization, a Master’s degree, and a PhD in Operative Dentistry from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil, as well as a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from KU Leuven, Belgium.
 
With extensive experience in restoring teeth using composite resins, Dr. Renato is passionate about sharing his knowledge through lectures and hands-on courses on composite restorations, a journey he once shared with his longtime friend and colleague, Dr. Edson Araujo. He currently maintains private practices in both Laguna and Florianópolis, Brazil, where he continues to combine clinical excellence with a commitment to education and aesthetic outcomes.

Day 1

  • Smile esthetic principles

  • Anterior teeth anatomy

  • Resin composite classification and characteristics

  • Shade selection

  • Anterior composite restoration stratification techniques

  • Diastema closure (two different techniques; upper central incisors)

  • Silicone Index Fro Shape Control

  • Dental Bonding & Light Curing
    Principles

  • Class IV restoration

  • Composite veneer (multilayering technique; upper darkened central incisor)

Day 2

Fall 2026 – TBC

  • Silicone index for shape control: an alternative approach

  • Direct composite veneers for bleach shades (upper lateral incisors)

  • Semi-direct technique (diastema closure, upper lateral incisor)

  • Bonding of semi-direct/indirect composite restorations

  • Tooth preparation for composite veneer (upper central incisor)

  • Direct composite veneers from upper canine to canine, with each tooth presenting a different clinical situation: diastema, wear, peg-shaped tooth, Class III and Class V restorations, and a darkened tooth

Day 3

Fall 2026 – TBC

  • Finishing and Polishing of Composite Restorations
  • Direct composite veneers from upper canine to canine, with each tooth presenting a different clinical situation: diastema, wear, peg-shaped tooth, Class III and Class V restorations, and a
    darkened tooth
  • Finishing and polishing: from the initial shaping to the final texturing of all six composite veneers
