Posterior Restoration Masterclass

(21 CE Hours)

Modern posterior dentistry demands more than simply filling cavities — it requires biomechanical precision, adhesive mastery, and a biomimetic mindset.

This comprehensive 3-day intensive program guides clinicians through the complete posterior restorative workflow — from foundational Class II direct composites to advanced indirect restorations using Immediate Dentin Sealing (IDS) and Deep Margin Elevation (DME).

With extensive hands-on training across all three days, this program focuses on precision, longevity, and evidence-based methodologies that reduce biomechanical failure and secondary caries risk.

Teaching evidence-based dentistry is teaching for the future.

Specialist in Restorative Dentistry

The INSTRUCTOR

Dr. Renato Quirino Ramos is a Brazilian dentist specializing in aesthetic dentistry, with a strong academic and clinical background in Operative Dentistry. He holds a specialization, a Master’s degree, and a PhD in Operative Dentistry from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil, as well as a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from KU Leuven, Belgium.

With extensive experience in restoring teeth using composite resins, Dr. Renato is passionate about sharing his knowledge through lectures and hands-on courses on composite restorations, a journey he once shared with his longtime friend and colleague, Dr. Edson Araujo. He currently maintains private practices in both Laguna and Florianópolis, Brazil, where he continues to combine clinical excellence with a commitment to education and aesthetic outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

  • Apply biomimetic principles to preserve tooth structure and reinforce weakened posterior teeth
  • Achieve predictable Class II composite restorations with ideal anatomy, contacts, and occlusal harmony
  • Apply advanced adhesive protocols, including Immediate Dentin Sealing (IDS), resin coating, and Deep Margin Elevation (DME)
  • Select appropriate materials to improve biomechanics and fracture resistance
  • Prepare teeth for inlays, onlays, overlays, endocrowns, and tabletops using minimally invasive principles
  • Fabricate efficient provisional restorations and manage deep margins predictably
  • Execute predictable adhesive bonding and luting protocols for durable indirect restorations
  • Finish, polish, and refine occlusion to ensure long-term function and restoration longevity
  • Improve clinical efficiency and workflow while delivering high-quality posterior restorations
