The INSTRUCTOR

Dr. Renato Quirino Ramos is a Brazilian dentist specializing in aesthetic dentistry, with a strong academic and clinical background in Operative Dentistry. He holds a specialization, a Master’s degree, and a PhD in Operative Dentistry from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil, as well as a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from KU Leuven, Belgium.
 
With extensive experience in restoring teeth using composite resins, Dr. Renato is passionate about sharing his knowledge through lectures and hands-on courses on composite restorations, a journey he once shared with his longtime friend and colleague, Dr. Edson Araujo. He currently maintains private practices in both Laguna and Florianópolis, Brazil, where he continues to combine clinical excellence with a commitment to education and aesthetic outcomes.

    • Composite selection

    • Shade selection

    • Light-curing protocol

  • 12:00 – 01:00 PM: Lunch.
  • 01:00 – 03:00 PM (hands-on)

    • Class I composite restoration (tooth #17)

  • 03:00 – 03:15 PM: Break.

  • 03:15 – 5:00 PM (hands-on)

    • (Part I): class II composite restoration (tooth #16)

    • (Part II): finishing and polishing of direct composite restorations

Day 2

June 1, 2025

  • 8:00 – 8:30 am: Breakfast
  • 08:30 – 10:00 AM (lecture):

    • Tooth preparation for indirect composite restorations

    • Deep margin elevation

    • Immediate dentin sealing

    • Temporary restoration

    • Adhesive luting of indirect composite restorations

    • Finishing and polishing of direct/indirect composite restorations

  • 10:15 AM – 12:00 PM (hands-on):

• Hands-on (part I): indirect composite restorations (tooth #25 and #26)

  • 12:00 – 01:00 PM: Lunch.

  • 01:00 – 03:00 PM:

• Hands-on (part II): indirect composite restorations (tooth #25 and #26)

  • 03:00 – 03:15 PM: Break.

  • 03:15 – 4:30 PM: 

• Hands-on (part III): bonding of indirect composite restorations (tooth #26)
• Hands-on (part IV): finishing and polishing of indirect composite restorations
