This hands-on training is designed to equip participants with practical skills and knowledge in advanced soft tissue management techniques. The program will focus on Free Gingival Grafting (FGG) to enhance keratinized tissue, Connective Tissue Grafting (CTG) for root coverage and esthetics, and Tunneling with soft tissue substitutes for minimally invasive solutions. Through comprehensive exercises and demonstrations, participants will gain the expertise needed to perform these procedures confidently and effectively.

Dr. Tarzemany is a specialist in Periodontics and the Director of the Graduate Periodontics Program at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia (UBC).

 

Dr. Tarzemany’s meticulous approach to periodontics and surgery is thoughtful and evidence based. Dr. Tarzemany focuses on periodontal health, gum grafting & bone grafting. dental implants, in addition to other periodontal surgical and non-surgical procedures.

Learning Objectives:

  • Anatomy of Soft Tissue Understanding: By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the anatomy of soft tissues around teeth and dental implants. They should be able to identify and explain key anatomical structures relevant to soft tissue grafting procedures.
  • Indications and Treatment Planning: Participants should be able to recognize and assess various clinical indications for soft tissue grafting and develop tailored treatment plans based on patient-specific needs and expectations. This includes evaluating factors like gingival recession, insufficient keratinized tissue, and aesthetic concerns.
  • Grafting Techniques and Materials: Attendees should achieve proficiency in the techniques of Free Gingival Grafting (FGG), Connective Tissue Grafting (CTG), and tunneling with Soft Tissue Substitutes. They should also understand the selection and utilization of different grafting materials.
  • Post-Operative Care: Participants should be able to provide sufficient post-operative care and address any unexpected issues that may arise.
